Creating a “Bank” for Your Social Media Posts
Every week on Monday I send out an email to the agents on my team that has a different social media tip on it every time. Well, this week I failed to do that, and I was disappointed in myself for that. I got a nasty cold out of nowhere (not covid) over the weekend, and I couldn't complete any of the tasks I set for myself. I'm bringing this up because as realtors, our business is COMPLETELY dependent on us unless we've reached the point where we're able to outsource our work.
If we happen to get sick, then our whole business essentially shuts down, and sometimes we don't have the option to do that. This is why it's very important that we find as many ways to automate the tedious tasks that we do as realtors, such as posting daily on our social media.
So how can we automate our social media? Well, there are many ways that we can do this, but for this email, we're going to focus on creating a "bank" for your social media posts.
To explain what I mean by this let's say that you're going on five showings one day, and you know that you should post about this on your social media. It would be a bit excessive if you posted pictures of each house that you did showings on that day, so this is what you should do...take a picture of something different at each house, for example, the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, etc.
Out of all the pictures you took that day ONLY post one of them...okay maybe two if you really feel like it. Now, you may be asking, "what did I take all of those pictures for?" and to that, I say great question! You're going to put those pictures in your social media bank, which can be a folder in your google drive.
The purpose of your social media bank is to have some backup posts just in case you don't have enough time one day to put together a post for your social media.
To wrap things up, I just want to say that the only way we can truly take control of our business is if we do things responsively, and not reactively. It's easy for us to put things off such as posting on our social media, but if we take the time to plan ahead for these things, then we'll have more time to do other things to generate more business for ourselves.
